Carbon traps gases and dissolved impurities in its structure — including toxic metals such as copper — for clearer, odour-free water. It suits any AquaClear 50 owner running general chemical filtration, and anyone clearing residual medication from the tank after a treatment course.

Key features

Activated carbon — adsorbs dissolved organics, odour-causing compounds and heavy metals including copper.

Fits the AC50 only — sized specifically for that basket, at 70 g per insert.

Fresh and saltwater safe — the same insert works across both water types.

Three-pack — roughly three months of replacements at Fluval's stated monthly interval.

Specifications

Fluval item

19644

Media type

Activated carbon

Weight

70 g per insert (210 g pack)

Fits

AquaClear 50 power filter only

Pack

3 inserts

Replacement interval

Every 4 weeks

Water type

Freshwater and saltwater

Will it fit my filter?

Filter

Aquarium size

Flow rate

AquaClear 50

76–190 L

Not published by Fluval — adjustable flow-control valve fitted

This insert is sized for the AC50 basket only.
