It will not fit the larger AquaClear 30, 50, 70 or 110 — each of those takes its own size of foam insert.

Care and maintenance

Rinse it in water taken from the aquarium, not tap water, once flow visibly drops — tap water's chlorine or chloramine kills the bacteria living on the foam. Replace it once it no longer springs back after a squeeze, typically every four to six weeks depending on how heavily stocked the tank is. Replace only one type of media at a time so the filter never loses all its bacteria at once.

Common questions

How often should I replace this foam?

When it stops springing back after a squeeze or restricts flow even after rinsing — typically every four to six weeks in an established tank, more often in a heavily stocked one.

Should I rinse it in tap water?

No — use water taken from the aquarium during a water change.
