Fluval designed it to capture solid waste particles before they reach the other media, so the finer media behind it does not clog as soon and lasts longer.

Key features

Catches solid waste before it reaches the finer media.

Helps finer media last longer, so it needs replacing less often.

Suited to medium and coarse filtration, the first stages water passes through.

Specifications

Fluval item number: A1470

Pack: 750 g

Type: mechanical pre-filter media

Use: canister filters

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for canister filters on freshwater and marine aquariums; Fluval lists it for all canister filters.
