It grows a thick fleshy stalk topped with a broad, often ruffled cap covered in polyps, and it is one of the hardiest soft corals in the hobby.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eAppearance\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe cap, called the capitulum, spreads out from the stalk and carries small polyps that give the surface a fuzzy look when they are open. Colours run cream, tan, brown, yellow and green.
