In the aquarium it appreciates plenty of live rock for shelter, a sandy substrate and open water above the reef for swimming, within a stable, well-established system.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eAppearance\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eMales are richly coloured in red and orange with blue highlights and a characteristic dark band running along the lower flank into the tail, giving the fish a \"shark-fin\" look when displaying. Females are more subdued in pink-orange tones. Like all fairy wrasses the body is slim and streamlined. Naoko's Fairy Wrasse is an excellent community fish that ignores corals and invertebrates and rarely bothers other fish. A tight-fitting lid is essential, as fairy wrasses are notorious jumpers, particularly when newly introduced.
