A hardy, active grazer, it reaches around 40 cm and needs a large aquarium with open swimming room. Its bold striping and grazing habit make it a superb, algae-controlling centrepiece.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eNatural Habitat\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eWidespread across the Indo-Pacific, on shallow coral reefs, lagoons and reef flats where it grazes filamentous and leafy algae. Juveniles shelter among rock and rubble.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eAppearance\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eTall and near-circular in profile, patterned with alternating dark and pale vertical bands broken by fine spotting and yellow highlights.
