Aqua Medic T Controller Twin 2.0
One controller, two outlets, and a 0.1°C switching accuracy that keeps a heater and a chiller from fighting each other. The Aqua Medic T Controller Twin 2.0 is a dual-channel temperature controller that switches a heating device and a cooling device from a single seawater-resistant probe, holding your system within a set range day and night without you adjusting a dial. It suits any freshwater or marine tank where temperature swings – Brisbane summers on the cooling side, winter nights on the heating side – are the actual problem, not the device brand.
Key features
- Two independent switched outlets – one heating (up to 1,200 W), one cooling (up to 460 W) – run from the one unit and the one probe.
- 0.1°C resolution and switching accuracy – set point adjustable across 16–40°C in 0.1°C steps, so the controller isn't rounding your target.
- Built-in switch delay – a minimum 30-second gap between heating and cooling outlets stops the two devices cycling against each other.
- Battery-backed memory – your set point survives a power cut; the controller doesn't reset to default when the power comes back.
- IP65 housing – rated against splash and dust in a wet aquarium cabinet.
- Audible alarm – a single adjustable threshold sounds if the tank drifts outside your set range.

Will it fit my setup?
The T Controller Twin 2.0 doesn't heat or cool anything itself – it's the brain that switches devices you already own, or are buying separately. Check your heater's wattage against the 1,200 W heating outlet limit and your chiller or fan against the 460 W cooling outlet limit before plugging in; anything under those figures is fine on a single channel.
What's included
- T Controller Twin 2.0 unit
- 1 x seawater-resistant temperature probe with suction-cup mount
Not included
- Heating device (heater, in-line heater)
- Cooling device (chiller, cooling fan)
- Wall-mounting bracket for the controller body – the Aqua Medic Universal Holder fits this unit if you want it off the cabinet floor
Safety
This is a mains-powered switching device controlling other mains-powered equipment – run it on a circuit protected by an RCD rated 30 mA or lower. The built-in switch delay is a safety feature, not a fault: don't be concerned if heating and cooling don't swap over instantly.
Care and maintenance
The temperature probe is replaceable independently of the controller body if it fails or drifts – check it against a separate thermometer occasionally, as with any electronic probe.
Goes well with
- Aqua Medic Universal Holder – wall-mounts the controller body off the cabinet floor.
- A compatible in-tank heater sized under 1,200 W for the heating outlet.
- A cooling fan or chiller sized under 460 W for the cooling outlet.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Aqua Medic's 24-month manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard freight – this is a small, light item with no special handling requirements.
Common questions
Can it run a heater and a chiller at the same time?
Yes – that's the point of the twin outlet design. One channel switches heating, the other switches cooling, from the same temperature reading, with a built-in delay so the two never activate against each other.
Does it come with a heater or chiller?
No. The T Controller Twin 2.0 is the switching unit only – you connect your own heating and cooling equipment to its two outlets.
What's the maximum wattage it can switch?
1,200 W on the heating outlet and 460 W on the cooling outlet. Add up the wattage of whatever you're plugging into each outlet and stay under those figures.
Is it suitable for marine tanks?
Yes – the probe is seawater-resistant and the controller itself is a general-purpose temperature switch suitable for freshwater or marine systems.
What happens to my settings if the power goes out?
The set point is retained through a power interruption via the controller's battery-backed memory, so it resumes at the same setting once power returns.
