Freshwater sharks are not sharks at all. They are cyprinids named for the shape of the dorsal fin, and they bring a strong, purposeful presence to a larger community tank. We stock the red tail black shark, rainbow shark including albino and longfin forms, and the silver shark, which shoals and grows well past thirty centimetres.

The algae eaters are the working half of this group. The Siamese algae eater is one of the few fish that genuinely eats black brush algae, while the flying fox looks similar but is not the same fish. Chinese algae eaters graze well as juveniles but become far less useful and more aggressive with age.

Red tail and rainbow sharks are territorial with their own kind, so keep one per tank. See shipping and delivery.
