Killifish are among the most colourful freshwater fish in the world and among the least often seen in shops, largely because most are short lived and travel poorly. We stock clown killifish, golden and steel blue gardneri, blue and gold panchax, and Nothobranchius cardinalis.
The clown killifish is a true nano fish at around three centimetres, best kept in a small, quiet, densely planted tank with floating cover. Gardneri and Nothobranchius are larger and bolder, and the males colour hardest when kept with females present.
Most killifish are surface oriented and almost all of them jump, so a tight lid is essential rather than optional. Pairs are listed individually where available. See shipping and delivery for live fish terms.
