The marine betta, also called the comet, is covered in white spots on a dark body with a false eyespot near the tail. When threatened it backs into a hole leaving the tail exposed, and the pattern resembles the head of a moray eel. It is one of the better pieces of mimicry on the reef.

They are nocturnal and slow moving, spending the day tucked into caves and coming out as the lights dim, so a rockscape with deep overhangs suits them and they need feeding accordingly.

They are reef safe with corals but will eat small shrimp and any fish that fits in the mouth. Peaceful with larger tank mates. See shipping and delivery.
