Blennies perch on the rockwork, watch the room and get on with grazing, which makes them one of the most entertaining and least demanding fish in a reef tank. The algae blenny, also sold as the lawnmower blenny, is the classic choice for a tank with film algae to clear, while the midas blenny swims more freely and takes on a golden colour that is hard to beat.

Forktail, canary and grammistes blennies belong to the Meiacanthus group, which carries a mild venom in the fangs and is generally left alone by predators. That makes them safe additions to mixed tanks.

One caution. Fang blennies of the Plagiotremus group nip the fins and slime of other fish, so read each listing. Live fish ship by air freight under our Arrive Alive Guarantee.
