The bubble tip anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor) is the usual first anemone for reef keepers and one of the hardier species in the hobby. It wedges its foot into a rock crevice rather than sand, wants strong lighting and moderate flow, and takes a piece of prawn, fish or mysis once a week. Ocellaris and percula clowns are not its wild partners, yet in aquariums they often move in, and maroon clowns pair with it naturally. A healthy specimen can also split down the middle to make two. Colour forms we get in include rose, green, Red Forest Fire and Black Widow.
Anemones wander until they find a spot they like, so guard pump intakes and only add one to a reef stable for months. Air freight orders are covered by our Arrive Alive Guarantee, and our delivery information sets out every shipping option plus the Western Australia and Tasmania rules.
