Lighting and temperature control for freshwater aquariums. LED fixtures from Fluval, Bioscape and Neo cover everything from a basic display light through to full spectrum planted tank units with programmable channels for plant growth.

Heating covers submersible heaters and thermostats from Fluval, Marina and Bioscape, with Teco chillers for cold water species such as axolotls and for tanks that overheat through a Queensland summer.

Plants need both intensity and duration. A common beginner mistake is running a strong light for ten or twelve hours a day, which grows algae faster than it grows plants. Six to eight hours is a better starting point.
