The plants that do not fit the usual categories. Aponogeton crispus red is a bulb plant that throws long, crinkled red leaves and makes a feature on its own, while banana lilies grow from a cluster of tuberous roots and send leaves up to the surface.

The paludarium side covers plants for setups that are part water and part land, including betel leaf cuttings, chlorophytum and dwarf green rush, all of which grow with roots wet and leaves in the air.

Bulb plants such as aponogeton go through a natural dormancy where they die back and then reshoot, so leave the bulb in place rather than throwing it out. See Paludarium & Terrarium Plants for the emersed range.
