Flipper made its name with one idea: a magnetic algae cleaner with a scrubber pad on one face and a scraper blade on the other, flipped over inside the tank from the outside so your hands stay dry. The floating models come in three sizes matched to glass thickness: Nano up to 6 millimetres, Standard up to 12 and Max up to 19. The Edge is rated to 12 millimetres in Standard size or 25 in Max and ships with both steel and acrylic safe blades, while the Pico 2.0 suits nano and betta tanks. For looking rather than cleaning, the DeepSee is a magnetic magnifying lens that holds itself to the outside of the glass, with add on orange filter lenses that cut the blue of reef lighting so corals show in truer colour. A floating Top Down Viewer, an LED spotlight, Platinum scrapers, cleaning mitts and replacement pads and blades round it out.
Only ever use a plastic blade on an acrylic tank; one pass with steel can leave a permanent scratch.
