The oddities, and some of the most engaging fish in the shop. Puffers and tobies include valentini, dogface, leopard and porcupinefish, all of them intelligent, personable and hard on invertebrates. Boxfish and cowfish share the same charm with a very different shape.

Seahorses, including bigbelly, spotted and White's seahorse, along with pipefish, are slow feeders that need a quiet tank of their own with hitching points and frequent small feeds. They do not compete for food with faster fish. Filefish and small bamboo and epaulette sharks round the group out.

None of these are casual purchases. Puffers and boxfish can release toxins when stressed, seahorses need dedicated husbandry, and sharks need a tank measured in metres rather than litres. Talk to us before ordering if you are not sure. See shipping and delivery.
