CaribSea has produced aquarium substrate since 1972, supplying zoos and public aquariums as well as hobbyists, and its aragonite sands are a long standing choice for reef tanks. Arag-Alive comes wet, seeded with live bacteria to cycle a new tank quickly, in Fiji Pink, Bimini Pink, Hawaiian Black, Natural Reef and Special Grade. Aragonite is calcium carbonate, so it buffers pH and carbonate hardness upward rather than sitting inert. Above the sand, Life Rock is dry aragonite rock with a coralline coloured coating and dormant bacteria, in Original, Shelf, Flatz, Arches, Belize Branch and the rod assembled Reef Tree kits, backed by mined South Seas base and shelf rock. For freshwater there is Eco-Complete planted and cichlid substrate, and Dragon and Mountain stone for aquascapes.
Bags are heavy, so larger orders are best collected from North Lakes.
