Founded in Taiwan in 2011, AutoAqua specialises in one thing, optical sensing for aquarium automation. Its Smart ATO units, ATO meaning auto top off, watch the water level with an optical sensor that has no float to stick, then pump fresh water from a reservoir as evaporation drops the level. The Duo and Lite suit sumps and standard tanks, the G2 Nano hangs on a small tank, and the Smart ATO RO opens a solenoid to fill a storage drum from an RO line. The Security series applies the same sensor to protection: Skimmer Security cuts power before a cup overflows, Level Security stops a rising level, and Temp Security disconnects a stuck heater. An inline TDS meter, the ASOV shut off valve and the Smart Stir stirrer complete the set.
In a reef tank, top up with RO water rather than tap water.
