LED lighting for freshwater tanks, from simple display lights through to full spectrum programmable units built for plant growth. Fluval, Bioscape and Neo fixtures cover nano tanks up to long display aquariums, with mounting legs, hanging kits and timers.

For a planted tank, match the light to the plants. Low light species such as anubias, java fern and cryptocoryne do well under modest output, while carpeting plants and red stem species need high intensity and usually added carbon dioxide to keep up.

Algae is almost always a balance problem rather than a light problem on its own, so change one variable at a time. Shortening the photoperiod is the easiest first move.
