Tap water carries chlorine, chloramine, phosphate, nitrate, silicate and sometimes copper, and every one of those causes problems in a reef tank. RO/DI, meaning reverse osmosis followed by deionisation, strips it back to pure water so the only things going into the tank are the ones you put there on purpose.
We stock Reef Pure RO systems along with replacement sediment filters, carbon blocks, membranes and deionisation resin. Filters are consumables and their life depends on your incoming water quality, so a total dissolved solids meter on the outlet is the simplest way to know when the resin is spent.
