Terrestrial invertebrates for keepers who want something genuinely different. We currently stock the two-tone wolf spider, an Australian burrowing species.

Wolf spiders are active hunters rather than web builders, running down prey across the substrate at night and retreating to a burrow by day. They need a deep substrate they can dig into, a shallow water dish and a hide, and they feed on appropriately sized live insects.

They are best kept as display animals rather than handled. All spiders are venomous to their prey, and a bite from this group is painful without being regarded as medically significant to a healthy adult, but the sensible approach is a secure enclosure and tongs at feeding time.

See Complete the setup for enclosure gear and Live Foods for feeders.
