Flipper Standard Stainless Steel Replacement Blades for Glass Tanks - 2pk
Stainless steel blades sized for the Flipper Standard and Standard Float. A worn blade is the usual reason a Flipper stops clearing algae in one pass - these genuine stainless replacements snap straight into the Standard and Standard Float bodies and restore a clean scraping edge in under a minute.
Key features
- Stainless steel - holds a sharp edge through regular use and will not corrode in marine water.
- Fits Flipper Standard and Standard Float - both use the same blade mount.
- Quick change - lift the blade tabs, snap the new blade in; it only fits one way round.
- Two pack - a spare ready to go once the fitted blade dulls.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: glass aquariums, and stubborn or calcified algae that a soft pad will not lift. Not suitable for: acrylic tanks - use the ABS blade there instead, since stainless will scratch acrylic on contact.
Care and maintenance
A fitted blade typically holds its edge for around three to six months of regular use, depending on how much coralline or hard algae it is clearing. Swap in a fresh blade once it starts leaving algae behind rather than lifting it clean.
Goes well with
- Flipper Standard Float - the cleaner these blades fit.
- Flipper Standard ABS blade 3pk - keep on hand if you also run an acrylic tank.
Warranty and delivery
Sold as a standard parcel item. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of any supplier warranty term.
Common questions
Do these fit the Flipper Max or Nano?
No. This blade is sized for the Standard and Standard Float bodies only - Max and Nano use their own dedicated blade sizes.
How do I know when to replace the blade?
When it starts skating over algae instead of shearing it off, or you notice visible rounding on the edge.
Can I fit this blade backwards?
No. The blade tabs only seat correctly one way round, so it cannot be fitted incorrectly.
