Bioscape Replace Impeller with S/Steel Shaft
A stainless steel shaft impeller for the Bioscape PRO canister filter range, built to outlast the ceramic shaft fitted from the factory. This is the internal impeller and shaft assembly that spins inside the filter's pump housing – the part that wears out first when flow drops or the motor starts to hum without moving water.
Key features
- Stainless steel shaft – replaces the ceramic shaft the PRO range ships with from the factory. Ceramic shafts can crack from an impact or a dry start; stainless steel doesn't.
- Model-specific fit – sized to the impeller housing of the 1050, 1620 or 2000 L/h PRO filter, so choose the variant that matches your filter, not just the closest size.
- Direct swap – drops into the existing impeller well with no modification to the filter head.
Which one do I need?
| Your filter | Rated flow | SKU |
|---|---|---|
| BIS540 PRO Easy Clean Canister Filter | 1050 L/h | BIS564 |
| BIS541 PRO Easy Clean Canister Filter | 1620 L/h | BIS565 |
| BIS542 PRO Easy Clean Canister Filter | 2000 L/h | BIS566 |
Check the flow rate printed on your filter's box or base plate before ordering – the three PRO housings look near-identical.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for the Bioscape PRO Easy Clean Canister Filter range (BIS540, BIS541, BIS542) only. Not suitable for the Bioscape Tropic or Stainless Steel canister filter ranges, which use a different impeller housing.
Care and maintenance
A grinding or rattling noise, a filter that won't prime, or a visible flow drop despite clean media are the usual signs the impeller needs replacing rather than the media. Rinse the impeller well of any built-up debris before fitting the new part – a fouled well is a common cause of a "dead" pump that isn't actually broken.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships by standard parcel post.
Common questions
Will the 1050 impeller fit the 1620 filter?
No. Each PRO filter size uses its own impeller and shaft length – fit the SKU that matches your filter's rated flow.
Do I need any tools to fit it?
No tools are specified by the manufacturer beyond opening the filter head to access the impeller well, which is a tool-free, twist-off design on the PRO range.
Why does my filter run but not move water?
That's the classic symptom of a worn or cracked impeller – the motor spins but the fins aren't pushing water, which is exactly what this part fixes.
