Mount your T5 Terrarium Top inside the enclosure instead of on top of it. The Exo Terra T5 Terrarium Top Mounting Clips let you fit a T5 Terrarium Top fixture inside a wooden vivarium or a terrarium with a perforated aluminium ventilation strip, rather than resting it on the mesh lid. Mounting inside keeps the fixture protected and reduces the light and UV lost through a mesh top.

Fitting
Aluminium ventilation strip
Position a clip 5 cm in from each end of the fixture, mark and drill through the strip, then secure with a bolt and nut through each clip.
Wooden vivarium lid
Position a clip 5 cm in from each end of the fixture, then secure with the supplied self-tapping screws – choose screws shorter than the lid thickness so they don't punch through the top.
Suitable for – and not suitable for
Suitable for mounting an Exo Terra T5 Terrarium Top (8 W, 24 W, 39 W and 54 W models) inside a wooden vivarium lid or a terrarium with a perforated aluminium ventilation strip. Not designed for enclosures without one of those two mounting surfaces, and not a substitute for the fixture's own top-mounting feet if you're happy running it on top of the mesh.

Why mount the fixture inside instead of on top?
Mesh between the bulb and the enclosure absorbs some of the UVB output before it reaches the animal. Mounting inside the enclosure removes that mesh penalty, so more of the fixture's rated UVB output reaches the basking area.
