Exo Terra Turtle Juvenile Floating Pellet

A floating pellet built around Gammarus shrimp for juvenile aquatic turtles. Exo Terra Turtle Juvenile Floating Pellet is formulated for young aquatic and semi-aquatic turtles such as red-eared sliders, map turtles and wood turtles, with 35% minimum crude protein and added vitamins and minerals. It's sold in 43 g and 90 g packs.

Key features
  • Gammarus shrimp meal included – alongside fish meal as the leading protein sources.
  • 35% minimum crude protein – formulated for the growth demands of a juvenile turtle.
  • Floating pellet form – stays visible at the surface, matching how aquatic turtles naturally feed.
  • Light-shielded packaging – a black screw-top tub that Exo Terra states helps preserve nutrients and lets you dispense only what you need.
  • No artificial colours or flavours – per Exo Terra's own claim (see the Ingredients note below on the one preservative it does contain).
  • Two pack sizes – 43 g and 90 g, so you can match the size to how many turtles you're feeding.

Feeding directions

Feed as much as the turtles can eat in five minutes, twice daily. Remove any uneaten food with a net after one hour to keep water quality from dropping.

Suitable for – and not suitable for

Suited to juvenile aquatic and semi-aquatic turtles, including red-eared sliders, map turtles and wood turtles. This is the juvenile formula – Exo Terra sells separate adult and hatchling pellet lines, so check your turtle's age and size against the right product rather than feeding this long-term once it matures.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by the standard consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law. Ships from our Brisbane / North Lakes warehouse.

Common questions

Does this pellet contain any artificial preservatives?

The fish oil in the formula is preserved with ethoxyquin, a synthetic antioxidant. Exo Terra states the pellet itself has no artificial colours or flavours, but ethoxyquin is present – we'd rather tell you than leave it off the page.

What's the calcium to phosphorus ratio?

Roughly 2:1, calculated from the guaranteed minimums of 2.0% calcium and 1.0% phosphorus. Exo Terra doesn't state this ratio directly on the pack.

How often should I feed my turtle this pellet?

Twice daily, offering only as much as your turtles can finish within five minutes, and netting out anything left after an hour.

Is this suitable for adult turtles?

It's formulated for juveniles. Exo Terra sells a separate adult pellet formula – switch over as your turtle matures.
