Exo Terra Vista Glass Terrarium 120 x 60 x 60cm (5mm Glass)

A panoramic view with no corner posts, at the largest footprint in the range. The Exo Terra Vista 120XL (120 × 60 × 60 cm) is the flagship of the Vista line – the same bent front-corner glass that gives the smaller models their wraparound view, on a four-foot floor plan with a full 60 cm of height. It's built for large reptiles, tall naturalistic scapes, or a genuine showcase display where the enclosure is meant to be looked at as much as into.

Key features
  • Bent front-corner glass – a single curved panel across the front-left and front-right faces for an unbroken, wraparound view rather than a flat front seam.
  • 5 mm glass throughout – base, side and back panels, and the curved front panel, all to the same thickness.
  • 120 × 60 × 60 cm footprint – the largest floor plan and the tallest model in the Vista range, suited to larger reptiles or a substantial planted, bioactive display.
  • Dual lockable front doors – open independently, so one side can stay closed during feeding or maintenance on the other.
  • Lockable stainless steel mesh top – 304-grade black anodized mesh, hinged for access, passing UVB and infrared from an overhead lamp while keeping the enclosure secure.
  • Adjustable front-window ventilation – a sliding strip controlling upward airflow through the enclosure, independent of the mesh top.
  • Waterproof, raised base – supports deep substrate or a full bioactive layer, and is raised to suit under-tank heat mat mounting.
  • Six cable and tubing inlets – three self-closing ports on each side, plus mounting points for a Monsoon-style misting nozzle.
  • Flat-packed for delivery – arrives as base, glass panels, PVC back panel, mesh cover and doors, assembled with the included screws.

Exo Terra doesn't publish an internal-height figure or an empty/furnished weight for this model. That matters more here than on the smaller Vista sizes: at roughly 454 L rated capacity, a furnished 120XL – glass, substrate, hardscape, water features and the animal itself – adds up to real weight, and we won't state a figure because the manufacturer doesn't publish one and estimating it would be a guess. Confirm the floor or stand you're placing it on is rated for the load before setup, rather than assuming a "reptile enclosure" is light duty because it isn't full of water.

Which Vista size do I need?

The Vista range runs four sizes. All share the same bent-glass front, lockable mesh top and dual-door layout – the difference is footprint and height.

Model External dimensions Manufacturer capacity
Vista 60 60 × 45 × 45 cm 32 gal (approx. 121 L)
Vista 90 90 × 45 × 45 cm 50 gal (approx. 189 L)
Vista 120 120 × 60 × 45 cm 90 gal (approx. 341 L)
Vista 120XL 120 × 60 × 60 cm 120 gal (approx. 454 L)

The 120XL is the only Vista model at the full 60 cm height on the largest footprint – pick it over the standard Vista 120 where you need the extra 15 cm of vertical space for climbing, a taller water feature, or a bigger thermal gradient between a basking point and the cool end.

What's included / what you'll still need

In the box: terrarium base, panoramic glass panels, PVC back panel, top frame, mesh cover, two doors, 12 screws and a screwdriver.

Not included: substrate, background, heating (heat mat, lamp or ceramic heat emitter), lighting or UVB, thermostat, décor and hardscape, and any misting or drainage hardware beyond the nozzle mounting points. This is the enclosure only.

Ventilation and escape-proofing

Airflow comes from the adjustable front-window vent, which sets how much fresh air is drawn upward, and the mesh top, which handles the bulk of air exchange and lets UVB and infrared through from an overhead lamp. Both front doors lock independently, and the mesh top is hinged and lockable. Exo Terra doesn't publish the exact mesh gauge – for a large enclosure this size, housing a strong or determined animal, check the actual mesh spacing suits the species before relying on it for security.

Suitable for – and not suitable for

Suited to larger reptiles that need real floor space and height together – monitors, larger arboreal species, and similar – and to large-format bioactive or heavily planted displays where the 60 cm height supports a genuine vertical scape. Not supplied with any life-support equipment, so budget separately for heating, lighting and substrate before it's ready to house an animal. Given the size and eventual furnished weight, check floor loading before committing to a permanent position, particularly upstairs or on a stand not rated for the load.

Care and maintenance

Wipe down the glass and mesh as part of routine cleaning; the waterproof base tolerates spot-cleaning and substrate changes without risk to the enclosure. On a unit this size, check door locks, hinges and the mesh frame periodically, and confirm all six cable inlets are seated closed when not in use.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by the standard consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law, in addition to any manufacturer term. Ships flat-packed from our Brisbane / North Lakes warehouse. This is a large, heavy carton – plan for two people to move and assemble it, and check delivery access (stairs, doorways) before ordering.

Common questions

Does the Vista 120XL come with a heat mat, lamp or substrate?

No. It's the enclosure only – base, glass, mesh top and doors. Heating, lighting, substrate and décor are all sold separately.

How much does a fully furnished 120XL weigh, and will my floor take it?

Exo Terra doesn't publish an empty or filled weight for this model. At roughly 454 L rated capacity, a furnished setup will be substantial – check your floor or stand's load rating rather than assuming it's fine, especially for a permanent position.

What's the difference between the Vista 120 and the Vista 120XL?

Same 120 × 60 cm footprint; the 120XL adds 15 cm of height (60 cm versus 45 cm), which is the only difference between the two models.

Can I stack cable, misting or probe lines into this enclosure without propping a door open?

Yes – six self-closing inlets (three per side) plus dedicated Monsoon-style misting nozzle mounting points.

Is this delivered assembled?

No – it ships flat-packed and is assembled on arrival with the included screws and screwdriver. It's a large, heavy item, so plan for two people.
