Fluval 106 Motor/Pump Unit
The complete motor and pump assembly that restores flow to a Fluval 106 canister filter.
This is the genuine Fluval A20181 motor head for the Fluval 106 canister filter (model A202), entry-level size in the 06-Series. It replaces the whole sealed motor housing, impeller, shaft and impeller cover as one unit, plus the case clips that latch the head to the canister body.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable as a genuine replacement for a Fluval 106 with a seized, burnt-out or noisy motor, a cracked motor head housing, or persistent leaking at the head seal even after an O-ring change. Suits freshwater and marine use.
Not suitable for the Fluval 105, 206, 306, 406 or the 07-Series (107/207/307/407), which use different motor heads.
Safety
Mains-powered part. Switch off and unplug the filter, and close both Aqua-Stop valves, before fitting. Do not run it outside the canister housing or without water in the system.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the impeller and impeller well periodically, and check for debris before assuming a fault if flow drops off again.

Common questions
Will this fit my Fluval 105 or 205?
No. The 105/205 uses a different impeller and shaft assembly to the 106/206, and the motor head is not interchangeable.
Does this include the media baskets or filter case?
No. This is the motor head only – the pump housing with impeller, shaft, impeller cover and case clips.
Do I need this, or just a new impeller?
If only the impeller is cracked, worn or has lost magnet strength, a replacement impeller alone is usually cheaper. This complete motor head suits a seized or burnt-out motor, or a housing cracked or leaking beyond what an O-ring fixes.
What voltage is this rated for?
240 V / 50 Hz, correct for the Australian mains supply.
