Fluval Aquaclear AC Surface Skimmer Unit Medium
Skims oily film and floating debris straight off the surface, without a bucket-and-siphon routine. This is Fluval's add-on surface skimmer for the AquaClear AC20, AC30 and AC50 power filters (Fluval part 19680). It slides onto the filter's intake stem and uses a self-levelling float with a built-in strainer to draw water from the very top of the tank, where oils, dust and protein film collect and block light and gas exchange.

Will it fit my filter?
This skimmer (part 19680) is sized for the AquaClear AC20, AC30 and AC50 power filters only. The AC70 and AC110 use a larger surface skimmer, Fluval part 19682, which is a different SKU. If your filter is an AC70 or AC110, this listing is not the correct part.

Suitable for any AC20, AC30 or AC50 owner who wants to reduce surface film without adding a separate skimmer or powerhead. Not suitable for AC70 or AC110 filters, and not a substitute for regular filter media maintenance – it manages the surface layer, not what has already settled through the filter.

Common questions
Does this replace my filter's normal intake strainer?
No. It's an add-on that sits over the existing intake stem, skimming the surface in addition to the filter's normal intake – it doesn't remove or replace any existing part.
Will it work if my water level drops between top-ups?
Yes. The float is self-levelling, so it keeps drawing from the surface as the water level changes with evaporation, within the filter's normal operating range.
Can I use it on an AC70 or AC110?
No. Those filters take the larger surface skimmer, Fluval part 19682, which is a different product.
