Fluval Aquaclear AC30 Filter Media Maintenance Kit
A complete three-stage media refresh for the AquaClear AC30, sized to drop straight into the basket. This kit (Fluval part 19691) bundles one Bio-Foam filter pad, one BIOMAX ceramic media insert and two activated carbon inserts – mechanical, biological and chemical filtration in one box, made specifically for the AC30 power filter.

Will it fit my filter?
Made specifically for the Fluval AquaClear AC30 power filter (rated 38–114 L / 10–30 US gal). It's not interchangeable with the AC20, AC50, AC70 or AC110 kits, which use different-sized media.

Care and maintenance
Fluval's AC series manual lists the Bio-Foam for replacement around every 3 months, with activated carbon and BIOMAX on a roughly 2-month cycle once they're working hard in an established tank. Rinse the Bio-Foam in tank water between full replacements rather than washing it under tap water, to protect the bacteria it's carrying.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for routine servicing of an AC30 already set up with genuine Fluval media. Not suitable for other AquaClear sizes – check your filter's model number before ordering, as media baskets differ across the range.

Common questions
How often should I replace this kit?
Fluval's manual points to around 3 months for the Bio-Foam and around 2 months for the carbon and BIOMAX, though tanks with a heavier bioload will exhaust the carbon faster.
Will this fit my AC20?
No. The AC20 takes its own kit (part 19690), sized for its smaller media basket.
Do I need to replace all three media types on the same day?
No – staggering replacement keeps some established bacteria in the filter at all times, which is gentler on the tank than a full media swap in one go.
