A dead transformer is the most common reason a Fluval CHI's pump stops running. This is the genuine low-voltage transformer that converts household AC mains down to the safe low-voltage supply used to run the CHI's internal pump and LED lighting – fitting both sizes of the Fluval CHI and Fluval CHI II range.

Will it fit my tank?
This transformer fits both Fluval CHI sizes – the 5 US gallon (19 L) model 10505 and the 25 L (6.6 US gal) model 10508 – across both the original CHI and CHI II. It's the correct low-voltage replacement whichever size you own.
Safety
Always unplug the aquarium from mains power before disconnecting or fitting the transformer. Use only the genuine low-voltage transformer specified for the CHI – running the pump or LEDs from an incorrect power supply can damage the unit and is a safety hazard. Keep the transformer itself well clear of water and any splash zone.
Common questions
How do I know the transformer has failed?
The pump stops circulating and the LEDs won't light, even though the tank itself is otherwise fine – that combination points to the transformer rather than the pump or light unit individually.
Does one transformer fit both CHI sizes?
Yes. Part A13950 fits both the 5 US gallon (19 L) and 25 L (6.6 US gal) Fluval CHI and CHI II.
Can I use a generic aftermarket power adapter instead?
