Fluval EDGE Magnet Cleaner
A magnetic algae cleaner sized for the tight glass of the Fluval EDGE, so you can scrub without putting a hand in the water. Two magnetic halves – one inside the tank, one outside – let you drive the inner pad around the glass from outside, including the low, hard-to-reach corners typical of the EDGE's compact shape.

- Slim profile – reaches beneath the gravel line, behind heaters, and around rocks and decorations where wider cleaners can't fit.
- Non-abrasive pads – designed not to scratch glass under normal use; scratches are more often caused by sand or fine substrate trapped between the magnet and the glass.
- Retrieval string – stops the inner half sinking out of reach if it separates from the outer half.
- Floating magnet retriever – the inner half floats, so it's easy to recover if you do lose your grip on it.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for glass Fluval EDGE aquariums, fresh or marine. Not suitable for acrylic tanks – a glass-rated magnet can mark acrylic. Fluval doesn't publish a maximum glass thickness for this model, so if you've upgraded to thicker glass than the EDGE ships with, check the magnets still grip firmly through it before relying on it day to day.
Care and maintenance
Rinse sand or substrate off both pads before use – trapped grit, not the pad itself, is what causes scratching. Replace the pads once they stop gripping cleanly or start leaving marks.

Common questions
Will it scratch my glass?
The pads are designed not to under normal use. Scratches almost always come from sand or fine substrate caught between the magnet and the glass, so rinse both pads before each use.
Can I use it on an acrylic EDGE-style tank?
No. This magnet is designed for glass aquariums; use an acrylic-safe cleaner on acrylic tanks.
What do I do if the inner magnet comes loose?
The retrieval string and the inner half's own buoyancy are there for exactly this – it floats and won't sink out of reach.
