Fluval Nano Filter Impeller

A genuine replacement impeller that brings a slowing or noisy Fluval Nano filter back to full flow in minutes. This is the Fluval magnetic impeller for the Nano Aquarium Filter (A455), Fluval part A-15002 – the single part that wears out first in any submersible filter, since it's the only moving component sitting in the water flow.

Key features
  • Genuine Fluval part (A-15002) – matched to the Nano filter's motor magnet and impeller housing.
  • Fixes the two classic symptoms – a filter that's gone quiet on flow, or one that's started buzzing or rattling.
  • No tools needed – the impeller lifts straight out of the motor housing by hand.

Will it fit my filter?

Confirmed to fit the Fluval Nano Aquarium Filter (A455). Our own fitment records also list it as the impeller used in the Fluval Ebi Aquarium Kit (NAN01) and Fluval Flora Aquarium Kit (NAN02), both of which are built around the same Nano-style filter unit. If your kit isn't one of these three, check the model printed on the filter body before ordering, as Fluval's other internal and canister filters use different impellers.

What's included

1 x magnetic impeller. The impeller cover, shaft and motor housing are not included – this is the impeller only.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for restoring flow on a Fluval Nano filter (A455) or the equivalent filter in the Ebi and Flora kits. Not suitable for Fluval's other internal filter ranges (such as the U-series or AquaClear) or its canister filters, which use different impeller sizes and shapes.

Care and maintenance

Rinse the impeller and its housing whenever you clean the filter to clear away calcium build-up and debris, which is the most common cause of an impeller that spins slowly or not at all before it's actually worn out.

Warranty and delivery

Covered under your rights as an Australian consumer if the part arrives faulty. Standard parcel delivery Australia-wide.

Common questions

My filter has gone quiet – is it definitely the impeller?

Usually, yes. Rinse the impeller and housing first in case it's just build-up; if it still won't spin freely or the flow stays weak after cleaning, replace the impeller.

Does this fit my Ebi or Flora kit filter?

It fits the filter used in both kits, which is the same Nano-style unit as the standalone A455. If you're unsure, compare the filter body shape to the A455 product photos.

Can I just clean the old impeller instead of replacing it?

You can try – a soak in white vinegar to dissolve calcium build-up often restores an impeller that's slowed down but not worn. If it's chipped, cracked, or still slow after cleaning, replace it.
