Fluval Nitrite Pads 107/207 3 Pack

Custom-cut nitrite pads for the Fluval 106, 206, 107 and 207 canister filters. This is Fluval's Nitrite Remover (Fluval item A263), sold as a pack of 3. Each pad does two jobs: it is mechanical media (it physically traps floating particles) and chemical media (a resin built into the pad takes nitrite out of the water). Nitrite is a toxic compound made when bacteria break down the ammonia in fish waste. A canister filter is a sealed external filter that sits below the tank.

Key features
  • Two jobs in one pad, mechanical and chemical filtration in the same piece of media.
  • Removes and reduces nitrite, while also trapping floating debris, excess food and waste for clearer water.
  • Supports beneficial bacteria, as stated by Fluval.
  • Custom fit for the 106, 206, 107 and 207, which Fluval says increases filtration efficiency.
  • Freshwater and saltwater, rated by Fluval for both.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums running a Fluval 106, 206, 107 and 207 canister filter. Not made for the 306, 307, 406 and 407; those filters take Fluval's 6 pack nitrite pad (item A264). Fluval does not list these pads for its FX series or other filters.

Care

Fluval's guide is to replace the pad monthly, or as required after testing your water with a nitrite test kit. Fluval also advises rinsing new media before fitting it, to flush out loose particles and trapped air, and not to compress or overfill the media baskets.

Warranty and delivery

Fluval does not publish a warranty for this filter media on its product page. Any help we give with a faulty pack is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships by standard parcel post.
