Fluval Plus No 2 Impeller Assembly
The genuine magnetic impeller for a Fluval U1 or U2 internal filter that's lost flow or gone noisy. A worn or cracked impeller is the single most common reason a Fluval internal filter slows down, rattles, or stops pushing water altogether – and it's a five-minute fix once you have the right part.
Key features
- Genuine Fluval part, A165 – matched magnet and blade geometry, not a generic substitute.
- Restores rated flow – a chipped or worn impeller is the usual cause of a filter running quiet, slow, or not at all.
- Impeller only – the assembly does not include the shaft; the shaft is supplied with the motor/pump head unit, not the impeller.
- No tools needed – lifts out of the impeller cover and drops back in.

Suitable for and not suitable for
Suitable for a U1 or U2 that has lost flow, gone noisy, or stopped running despite a clean intake and clear tubing. Not suitable for U3, U4 or C-series filters – check your model number before ordering, as the impeller is not interchangeable across ranges.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Fluval's standard replacement-parts warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard freight.
Common questions
My filter has gone quiet and the flow has dropped – is this the fix?
Usually, yes. Check the impeller for chips, cracks or a build-up of grime around the magnet first – that's the most common cause of reduced flow on a U1 or U2.
Does this include the shaft?
No. The shaft comes with the motor/pump head unit, not with the impeller assembly.
Will this fit my Fluval Plus 2?
Yes – Fluval Plus 1 and Plus 2 are the Australian names for the Fluval U1 and U2, and use the same impeller.
How do I fit it?
Remove the impeller cover, lift out the old impeller, and drop the new one in – no tools required.
