Frozen Tropical Mix 100g
Four whole ingredients, frozen fresh, in one convenient cube. Ocean Nutrition Frozen Tropical Mix 100g combines artemia, bloodworms, daphnia and mysis in a single pre-portioned cube, giving community freshwater fish a varied, meaty diet without keeping four separate tubs in the freezer.
It's a straightforward frozen food for the everyday community tank – no soaking, no rehydrating, just thaw and feed.
Key features
- Four ingredients in one cube – artemia, bloodworms, daphnia and mysis give a varied diet from a single product.
- Higher digestible protein – the manufacturer notes higher levels of easily digestible protein to support growth and condition.
- Natural pigments – the mix naturally contains pigments that can support colour in community fish.
- Naturally occurring nutrients – whole prey items provide amino acids and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, with nothing artificial added.
- Pre-portioned blister pack – individual cubes make it easy to feed only what the tank clears in a few minutes.
- Mixed sizes and textures – suits a range of mouth sizes feeding together in the one community tank.
- No preparation needed – thaw a cube and feed, with no mixing or rehydrating required.

Not suitable for: this is a freshwater product, not a marine or reef formula. It is not sized for very small fry or nano species that can't manage whole invertebrate items, and it is not a medicated or treatment product – it's a food.

Feeding rate and frequency
Feed 2 to 5 times a day. Only offer as much as your fish will finish within 5 minutes, and remove any uneaten food afterwards to keep water quality in check.
How to thaw and rinse
It is not harmful to feed this food to your fish while it is still frozen, and many keepers simply drop a cube straight into the tank. If you'd rather thaw it first, place the cube in a small container of aquarium water for a few minutes, then tip it through a fine net under cool water to rinse off any cloudiness before feeding – discard the soak water rather than pouring it into the tank. Once a cube has fully thawed, use it straightaway; don't refreeze it.
Storage and cold-chain note
This product is stored and supplied frozen and needs to stay that way until you're ready to feed it. Keep it in your freezer at home. A cube that still contains ice crystals, or has stayed cold and below 7°C for under two hours, can go back in the freezer – but once it has fully thawed and warmed up, it should be used or discarded rather than refrozen.
Warranty and delivery
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You're also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure doesn't amount to a major failure. As this is a perishable frozen item, please check it as soon as you receive or collect it and let us know straight away if there's a problem with the cold chain.
Frozen food is pick up only from our North Lakes store, because a pack that thaws on the way cannot be refrozen.
Common questions
Can I feed the cube while it's still frozen?
Yes. Ocean Nutrition confirms it is not harmful to feed this food to your fish while it is still frozen – thawing first is a preference, not a requirement.
How many cubes do I feed at a time?
There's no fixed number – feed 2 to 5 times a day and only offer as much as your fish will clear within 5 minutes.
Can I refreeze a cube if it thaws?
Only if it still contains ice crystals or has stayed cold for less than two hours. If it has fully thawed and warmed up, don't refreeze it – use it or discard it.
What fish is this suited to?
It's formulated for freshwater community tanks – the mix of artemia, bloodworms, daphnia and mysis suits a range of mouth sizes feeding together.
Is there anything added besides the four listed ingredients?
The declared composition is artemia, bloodworms, daphnia and mysis – no other ingredients are listed by the manufacturer.
Can I use this in a marine or reef tank?
It's labelled and formulated for freshwater community tanks. Ocean Nutrition makes separate marine-specific frozen foods if that's what you need.
