Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for large reptiles already sized for jumbo rats. If you are moving up a size or are unsure which size suits your animal, ask us in store.
Care
Thaw the rat in a sealed plastic bag in a container kept just for thawing, first in cold water until soft, then in warm water to bring it up to temperature. You can also thaw it slowly in a fridge that is not used for human food. Never use a microwave, as it leaves hot spots that can burn your reptile's mouth. Offer the rat with long tongs, not your fingers.
Safety
Feeder rodents can carry germs such as Salmonella, and freezing does not kill them. Never thaw rodents in the kitchen sink or where food is prepared, and wash your hands after handling them. Children under 5, adults 65 and over, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems should not handle feeder rodents.
Warranty and delivery
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply. Frozen food is pick up only from our North Lakes store, because a pack that thaws on the way cannot be refrozen.
