Red Sea MAX Nano Cube G2 excl cabinet
A reef system built into the aquarium, in a 45 cm cube. The Red Sea MAX Nano Cube G2 is an all-glass reef aquarium with its lighting, circulation, skimming and auto top-off already fitted into a built-in rear sump chamber. It's the compact, plug-and-play way into reef keeping Red Sea's MAX range is built around — ready to plumb in, not a shopping list of separate equipment to assemble. This listing is the aquarium and its equipment; the matching cabinet and a heater are sold separately.
Key features
- Built-in rear sump chamber — filtration, skimmer, pump and auto top-off run out of sight behind the display, so the display panel itself stays clear glass.
- Rimless 8 mm ultra-clear glass — high-clarity front and side panels with no frame breaking up the view.
- ReefLED 50 lighting included — a WiFi-controlled, full-spectrum LED fixture on its own mounting arm, run from the ReefBeat app.
- Sicce 950 L/h return pump — drives circulation through the display without a separate powerhead to plumb in.
- Skimmer and auto top-off already plumbed in — both sit in the rear chamber, wired and ready, rather than bought and fitted separately.

Which MAX Nano do I need?
This is the Cube G2 — the smallest and most square of the three MAX Nano G2 models. If you want a wider display in a similar footprint, the Peninsula G2 holds 25 L more water and is viewable from three sides. If you want meaningfully more water and stronger flow, the XL G2 steps up to 125 L and a 1,550 L/h pump.

Performance
Red Sea rates the included ReefLED 50 at roughly 500 µmol beneath the lens at the water surface, falling to around 100 µmol at 50 cm depth — comfortable intensity for the shallow water column of a 45 cm cube, including SPS coral placed high in the aquascape. The Sicce return pump is rated at 950 L/h before head loss through the rear chamber's own plumbing; expect a noticeably lower figure at the outlet, as with any pump measured before its own circuit.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for a first reef system, a desk or office nano, or an experienced reefer after a low-footprint SPS or softie display without building a sump from scratch. Not suitable if the plan is a deep sand bed and a real fish load — 62 L of display water keeps stocking to a genuinely nano bioload.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Red Sea's manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Mains-powered components are configured for 240 V / 50 Hz Australian supply. Ships as a boxed aquarium and equipment set.
Common questions
Does the MAX Nano Cube G2 come with a cabinet?
No — this listing is the aquarium and its equipment only. Red Sea's matching cabinet for the Cube G2 is sold separately and isn't interchangeable with the Peninsula or XL cabinets.
Does it come with a heater?
No. A heater isn't included on any MAX Nano G2 model — choose one rated for a system under 100 L, sized to how cold your room gets.
What's already plumbed in?
The return pump, protein skimmer and auto top-off all sit in the rear sump chamber and arrive already plumbed and wired. Setup is filling with saltwater and running a cable to a powerpoint, not assembling filtration from parts.
Can I add a bigger light later?
Yes, though the included ReefLED 50 already covers SPS-level PAR at nano cube depths — most owners who upgrade do it for coverage or aesthetics rather than intensity.
Is this suitable for a beginner?
Yes. The built-in filtration and skimmer remove the biggest early hurdles in reef keeping. You'll still need to cycle the tank, mix and test saltwater, and stay on top of top-offs and water changes.
