Suitable for: reef and marine tanks or sumps that need evaporation top-off; systems where salinity stability matters, such as coral-heavy reef tanks; glass up to 12 mm thick, for the magnetic mount; and setups within reach of home Wi-Fi for ReefBeat notifications and logging.

Not suitable for: sumps needing more than 300 L/h of make-up water or more than 2.5 m of lift from reservoir to tank; anyone wanting one unit to dose additives as well as top-off water, since this replaces evaporation only; and locations without a standard wall power outlet within 2 m of the controller. The system does not include a top-off reservoir – it pumps from a container you supply.

Red Sea covers the ReefATO+ for 2 years from the date of purchase against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship; the pump impeller is a wear item, covered for 6 months only. This warranty applies in addition to the consumer guarantees you already hold under Australian Consumer Law, which exist regardless of any manufacturer term. The included power supply plugs into a standard AU wall outlet; Red Sea does not publish a specific mains input voltage rating for the pack on its Australian materials, so check the label printed on the unit itself before use. The controller is for indoor use only and is not waterproof, so mount it clear of splash zones. Freight-wise it is classed as a standard parcel item, not oversize or special-order.

Does the ReefATO+ include a water reservoir?

No. It pumps from a container you supply. Use a sealed, food-grade container sized to at least a week of expected evaporation, placed within the pump's 2.5 m head and 300 L/h limits.

Can it dose anything other than top-off water?

No. It replaces evaporated water only. A separate doser is needed for trace elements, buffers or any other supplement.

What happens if the sensor loses contact with the water?

The unit shuts the pump down automatically. The same cutoff also trips on an abnormally long pump run, a blocked pump, a dry reservoir, or a detected leak, and requires you to resume operation via the button or app once cleared.

Is the pump repairable if it wears out?

Yes. Red Sea designs the pump to be serviced rather than replaced whole, though the impeller itself is a wear part covered for 6 months rather than the full 2-year warranty.

How does the backup high-level probe work?

If the normal pump-off probe fails to detect the rising water level, a second probe positioned roughly 2.5 cm higher cuts the pump before it can overfill the sump.
