Will it fit my tank?
This part is specific to Red Sea's large-format Reefer range – the 3XL900, S-850, S-1000 and their G2 900/S-850/S-1000 equivalents. If your tank is a Reefer Nano, 170, 250, 350, 425, 450 or 525, this is the wrong downpipe; those models use a different plumbing diameter. If you're not certain which range your tank belongs to, send us the model plate photo or your order number and we'll confirm before you buy.
Why this fails
Overflow downpipes crack or develop hairline leaks with age and UV exposure, or after being over-tightened during a plumbing rebuild. A cracked downpipe usually shows up as water tracking down the outside of the sump cabinet wall rather than a sudden leak – worth checking during routine maintenance on an older system.
Fitting
Hand-tight into the overflow fitting, no solvent welding required on the standard REEFER push-fit plumbing. Renew the O-ring or seal on the connection when you replace the downpipe – the seal is usually the actual point of failure, and a new downpipe on an old, hardened seal can still leak.
Care and maintenance
Clean downpipes during major maintenance – biofilm buildup inside overflow plumbing is the usual cause of a gurgling overflow that develops gradually over time, and is often mistaken for a plumbing fault when a clean resolves it.

Common questions
Will this fit my Reefer 350?
No. This downpipe is sized for the large-format S-850/S-1000/G2 900 range only. A standard Reefer 350 uses a different, smaller downpipe.
Do I need to replace the seal as well?
It's good practice to renew the O-ring or seal at the same time – a worn seal is the more common cause of a leak than the downpipe itself, and reusing an old, hardened one can leave the new part leaking too.
