Red Sea ReefRun G2 8000 DC Pump Power Supply
The genuine fix when a ReefRun G2 8000 won't power up. This is Red Sea's factory power supply for the ReefRun G2 8000 DC pump – the external unit that converts mains power into the stable DC input the pump's electronics need. Buy it as a spare when a pump will not start, cuts out, or will not reach full speed, rather than replacing the whole pump.
Key features
- Genuine Red Sea part – matched to the ReefRun G2 8000's power draw, not a generic universal supply.
- Runs on Australian mains – suits a 230–240 V / 50 Hz household circuit.
- The most common DC pump fix – a DC pump that will not start, runs erratically, or will not hold full speed is more often a failed external supply than a failed pump.

Fits my pump?
This power supply is sold and listed specifically for the ReefRun G2 8000. We have not been able to confirm whether it is shared with the 4000, 6000 or 12000 pumps in the same range – those models likely need their own correctly rated supply given their different power draw (16–38 W on the 4000 through to 33–105 W on the 12000), so do not assume interchangeability without checking with us first.

Common questions
My ReefRun 8000 won't start – is this the fix?
It is the first thing worth trying. A DC pump with a dead or failing external supply typically will not power on at all, or starts and then cuts out – symptoms that look identical to a seized pump but are far cheaper to fix.
Does this work on the 6000 or 4000 pump?
We cannot confirm that from Red Sea's published information – the different models draw different power, so check with us before assuming this supply suits a pump other than the 8000.
Do I need any tools to fit it?
No – it connects at the same DC input point the original supply used.
