Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle Lighting Combo

• Repti Tuff Splashproof Halogen, 50 W: a heavy duty halogen lamp made to cope with splashes, for aquatic turtles and other aquatic terrarium pets. It gives heat, visible light and UVA (which Zoo Med says encourages feeding and breeding), but no UVB.
• Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixture: a 5.5 inch (14 cm) polished aluminium dome with a ceramic socket. The dome extends past the face of the lamp so the lamp does not stick out.

Suitable for making a daytime basking spot over the dry dock of an aquatic turtle tank. Turtles also need UVB, so add a separate UVB lamp, or choose the Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle UVB and Heat Lighting Kit, which includes one. Not suitable as a night heat source, because it gives off bright light.

Mount the dome securely above the basking area where the turtle cannot reach the lamp, and do not exceed the wattage printed on the fixture. Control the heat with a thermostat or rheostat (a dimmer-style heat controller) and check the basking temperature with a thermometer. Let the lamp cool before handling.

Zoo Med lists a 1 year warranty on the Mini Deep Dome fixture and 3 months on the Repti Tuff lamp, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships by standard parcel post.
