Zoo Med Creatures Digital Thermometer
A reliable temperature reading, wherever your probe reaches. The Zoo Med Creatures Digital Thermometer pairs a water-resistant remote sensor with an external digital display, giving keepers an accurate temperature reading from inside a terrarium, nano enclosure or invertebrate habitat without opening the lid.
Key features
- Remote sensor probe – suction-mounts inside the enclosure and reads from substrate, branches or the tank wall.
- Water-resistant probe – safe in humid or bioactive setups; the LCD display itself must stay dry and mounts outside the enclosure.
- Switchable °C/°F display – read in the scale you're used to via a slide switch.
- Wide sensing range – reads from -23°C to 60°C (-10°F to 140°F), covering everything from a cool hide to a basking hotspot.
- Battery included – runs on one LR44 1.5V cell, supplied in the box.
- Compact size – suits Creatures habitats, nano terrariums and invertebrate enclosures without crowding the setup.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to terrariums, vivariums and nano enclosures housing reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates where you need to check the temperature at a specific point – a hide, a basking branch or a substrate layer. Not a heat source controller: this unit reads temperature only and does not switch power to a lamp or heat mat. Pair it with a dedicated thermostat if you need automatic temperature regulation.
Warranty and delivery
Backed by a 1 year Zoo Med warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a small parcel item with standard delivery.
Common questions
Can I use the probe in a humid or bioactive enclosure?
Yes. The remote sensor is water-resistant and can be positioned in substrate or against damp surfaces. Keep the digital display itself in a dry spot outside the enclosure.
What battery does it use, and is it included?
It runs on one LR44 1.5V button-cell battery, which is included in the box.
Does this thermometer also measure humidity?
No, this unit reads temperature only. For a combined reading, see the Zoo Med Creatures Dual Hygrometer & Thermometer.
Where should I place the probe for the most useful reading?
Position it at animal height rather than at the top of the enclosure, and consider a second thermometer at the opposite end of the enclosure to confirm both the warm and cool sides of the gradient.
