Suitable for smaller terrariums and lower wattage heat or basking lamps. Always check the maximum wattage printed on the fixture and never fit a higher wattage lamp. For larger lamps, the 8.5 inch Deluxe Porcelain Clamp Lamp is a separate listing.

If a bulb flickers or seems to burn out early, unplug the fixture and check the metal tab in the centre of the socket, where the bulb screws in. Zoo Med says this tab can be pulled slightly forward so it makes good contact with the bulb.

Clamp the lamp firmly so it cannot fall into the enclosure, keep the dome clear of anything flammable, and keep it where your animal cannot touch the dome or bulb. Control heat lamps with a thermostat.
