Bioscape Airline Control Valve Set 2 Pack Extendable
Dial airflow down without touching the pump. This two-pack of Bioscape airline control valves fits inline on standard aquarium airline and lets you throttle back the air reaching an airstone or ornament – useful when a pump is putting out more bubble than a tank, or a housemate, wants to hear.
Key features
- Inline flow control – turn the dial to reduce airflow to a single outlet, independent of the pump.
- Extendable design – built to sit between two lengths of airline rather than needing the line cut to a fixed point.
- Plastic construction – lightweight and corrosion-proof around aquarium water.
- Two-pack – enough to tune two outlets from one twin-outlet pump.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: dialling back airflow to an airstone, sponge filter or bubbling ornament on standard airline.
- Not suitable for: stopping backflow into the pump – this valve controls flow, it doesn't act as a one-way check valve. Fit a Bioscape check valve as well if the pump sits at or below the waterline.
Care and maintenance
- Turn the dial through its full range occasionally so it doesn't seize in one position from mineral build-up.
- Closing a valve fully increases back-pressure on the pump – back it off slightly rather than shutting it hard against a running pump for long periods.
Goes well with
- Bioscape Airline Check Valves 2 Pack – pair with this valve for backflow protection as well as flow control.
- Bioscape Air Pump 1000 – a single-outlet pump this valve can help tune down.
- Bioscape Airline Tubing 100 m Roll – bulk airline to extend either side of the valve.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by the standard Bioscape supplier warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to the consumer guarantees you're entitled to under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a small, light parcel with standard delivery.
Common questions
What's the difference between this and a check valve?
A check valve only stops backflow into the pump; it doesn't change how much air comes through. This control valve does the opposite – it throttles airflow but gives no backflow protection. Many setups use both.
Will this reduce noise from bubbling?
Yes – dialling back the flow to an airstone is one of the simplest ways to quieten a tank that's bubbling harder than you'd like.
Can I use one valve to split air to two outlets?
No, this is a single-line flow control, not a splitter. Each outlet needs its own inline valve.
Does closing the valve fully damage the pump?
Running a diaphragm pump fully closed for long periods adds back-pressure it isn't designed for – back the valve off slightly rather than shutting it hard.
