Bioscape Ammonia Extraction Pad 25 x 45cm
Target ammonia in your filter. This Bioscape ammonia extraction pad is a cut-to-fit filter media sheet that adsorbs ammonia from aquarium water - 25 x 45 cm of insurance for new tanks, quarantine systems and overstocked setups.
Key features
- Cut-to-fit sheet - trim the 25 x 45 cm pad to fit power filters, canister filters, trickle and wet/dry filters, powerheads and pond filters.
- Durable polyfiber construction - doubles as light mechanical filtration while it removes ammonia.
- Freshwater and marine safe.
- One sheet, many filters - cut it into pieces for several filters, or keep it whole for one larger unit.

When to use it
Use during initial tank cycling, after a bioload increase, or in a quarantine tank without an established biofilter. It's a chemical stop-gap, not a permanent fix - keep testing ammonia while it's in place and let the tank's own biofilter take over the job as it matures.
Care and maintenance
Bioscape doesn't publish a fixed exhaustion point for this pad, so use your ammonia test kit as the guide rather than a calendar: if ammonia stops dropping or starts climbing again, cut in a fresh section. Rinse debris out of the pad in tank water at water changes, but don't scrub it - that strips out the media doing the work.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums, ponds, and quarantine or hospital tanks. Not a substitute for biological filtration long-term.
Goes well with
An ammonia test kit to know when to cut in a fresh section, and Bioscape's Ammonia Extraction Cubes where a loose-media basket suits your filter better than a sheet.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by your rights as a consumer under Australian Consumer Law, in addition to any manufacturer terms.
Common questions
Can I cut it to any shape?
Yes - that's the point of the sheet format. Trim it to fit your filter's media compartment or basket.
How often do I replace it?
There's no fixed interval published by the manufacturer - test your ammonia and replace the section once it stops working rather than on a schedule.
Will it remove nitrate or nitrite too?
No, it's targeted at ammonia specifically. Nitrite and nitrate still need to be managed through your biological filter and water changes.
Is it reusable?
It can be rinsed of debris between water changes, but once its ammonia-adsorbing capacity is exhausted it needs replacing, not just cleaning.
