Bioscape 40ltr Nano Replace Polywool Filter Pads 3 Pack

The first line of defence for a crystal-clear 40 L nano. This three-pack of polywool filter pads is the mechanical-stage replacement for the Bioscape Nano Aquarium Unit 40 L (BIS135) – the pad that catches fine particles before they reach the biological and chemical media behind it.

Key features
  • Fine polywool weave – traps suspended particles that a sponge alone lets through, so the tank clears faster after a clean.
  • Direct fit – cut and sized for the Bioscape Nano 40 L filter compartment, no trimming needed.
  • Three-pack – several changes on hand, so you're never waiting on a reorder mid-clean.
  • Protects the media behind it – catching debris here keeps the zeolite/carbon cartridge and bio-cylinder working longer.
What it fits

Fits the mechanical stage of the Bioscape Nano Aquarium Unit 40 L (BIS135) filter box. It is not interchangeable with the zeolite/carbon or bio-cylinder media stages in the same unit, or with the 24 L and 61 L Nano units, which use their own sized media.

Care and replacement

There's no fixed changeout date published for this pad – how fast it browns depends on bioload and feeding. As a guide, check it weekly and swap it once it's visibly discoloured or slow to let water through. Rinse a lightly soiled pad in old tank water to extend it a few more days rather than binning it early.

Suitable for

Freshwater and marine nano setups running the Bioscape 40 L Nano Aquarium Unit. Not a substitute for biological or chemical media – this pad handles mechanical filtration only.

Common questions

How do I know when to change the pad?

Swap it once it looks brown or grey and water starts to flow through more slowly than usual – that's the pad telling you it's full.

Can I rinse and reuse it?

A light rinse in old tank water (never tap water, which will kill the bacteria on the pad) can buy a few extra days, but polywool isn't designed for repeated reuse – replace it once it's genuinely dirty.

Will this fit the 24 L or 61 L Nano units?

No. Each Bioscape Nano size uses its own filter pad cut to size – check your unit's litre rating before ordering.
