Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: routine glass cleaning on freshwater or marine tanks from roughly 60 to 90 cm.
- Not suitable for: acrylic aquariums (the razor will scratch them), or as a substitute for a gravel vacuum during a water change.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the sponges after every clean — trapped grit, not the sponge itself, is what scratches glass. Dry the razor blade before storing it to slow rust. When either part stops working cleanly, replace just that part rather than the whole kit.
Compatibility, spares and supersession
Both wear parts on this kit are sold separately: the corner-and-flat sponge pack (BIS44A) and the razor replacement (BIS44B). Replacing the worn part is cheaper than replacing the whole handle.

Pair this kit with a gravel cleaner or hand-pressure gravel vacuum for substrate maintenance, and a magnet cleaner for quick glass upkeep between full cleans.

Common questions
Does this kit include a gravel vacuum?
No. It covers glass cleaning only. Gravel cleaning and water changes need a separate gravel cleaner or water changer.
Can I use the razor on an acrylic tank?
No. The blade will scratch acrylic. Use the sponge heads only on acrylic, or a purpose-made acrylic-safe pad instead.
Can I replace just the sponge or just the razor?
Yes. The sponge pack (BIS44A) and the razor kit (BIS44B) are both sold separately, so you don't need to replace the whole handle when one part wears out.
Is this the right size for a 30cm tank?
It will work, but Bioscape's shorter 30cm kit (BIS43) is easier to control in a small footprint.
