Bioscape Fish Net Black
The right net width does the catching, not the chase. The Bioscape Fish Net Black is a fine-mesh aquarium net sold in five widths, from a 7.5cm nano size up to a 25cm net for larger community and pond-adjacent tanks. Matching the net to the fish avoids the long chase that stresses fish and clouds the water.
Key features
- Five width options – 7.5cm, 10cm, 15cm, 20cm and 25cm, so nano, standard and larger tanks are all covered.
- Black frame and handle – low-visibility against most substrates and backgrounds, which helps fish settle rather than dart from a flash of colour.
- Aquarium-safe materials – built for repeated use in water without breaking down or fouling the tank.
Which size do I need?
| Net width | SKU | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| 7.5cm | BIS630 | Nano tanks, shrimp and fry-sized fish |
| 10cm | BIS631 | Small community tanks and bettas |
| 15cm | BIS632 | Standard community aquariums |
| 20cm | BIS633 | Larger community and semi-aggressive tanks |
| 25cm | BIS634 | Large aquariums and bigger-bodied fish |
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: catching and moving fish during water changes, treatment, transport or re-homing, in freshwater or saltwater tanks.
- Not suitable for: handling fish with delicate fins or barbels for extended periods – lift and release quickly rather than chasing repeatedly, which stresses fish more than the net itself.
Care and maintenance
Rinse in clean fresh water after every use, especially after use in a medicated or saltwater tank, before it touches another aquarium. Air-dry fully between uses. Replace if the mesh tears or the frame cracks, since a damaged net can injure fish.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects on arrival, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a standard parcel item.
Common questions
Which size should I buy if I keep a mixed community tank?
Go one size up from your smallest fish – a net that's slightly too big controls better than one that's too small, since fish can dart around an undersized net.
Can I use the same net for a saltwater and a freshwater tank?
Rinse thoroughly in fresh water between tanks first. It's still worth keeping a dedicated net per tank where disease risk is a concern, particularly with a new fish still in quarantine.
Will it harm fry or shrimp?
The 7.5cm size is the better choice for fry and shrimp, used gently – scoop rather than chase.
