Bioscape Cloud Terrarium Wide 30 x 18 x 15cm
A low, wide glass box built for a moss carpet or a nano aquascape. The Bioscape Cloud Terrarium Wide is a 30 x 18 x 15 cm glass enclosure with 5 mm glass and Bioscape's raised glass base, which lifts the tank off the shelf for the Cloud range's signature 'floating' look. It ships as bare glass only — no light, cover, substrate or livestock — so plan on adding those separately before it's ready to plant or fill.
Key features
- 30 x 18 x 15 cm footprint — a landscape shape that suits carpeting moss and low aquascapes better than a taller box.
- 5 mm glass — Bioscape's stated glass gauge for this model.
- Raised glass base — a built-in plinth that lifts the tank and gives it the 'floating in the clouds' look the range is named for.
- Dual-purpose build — works as a shallow freshwater aquascape or a dry to semi-moist terrarium.
- Open top — no cover is fitted, so a light or misting head sits directly over the tank.

Which Cloud Terrarium size do I need?
The Wide is the smallest of four Bioscape Cloud Terrarium 'Wide' models we stock, all sharing the same low, landscape-format footprint and raised glass base:
| Model | External size (L x W x H) | Glass | Approx. capacity | Cover included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cloud Terrarium Wide | 30 x 18 x 15 cm | 5 mm | ~8.1 L | No |
| Cloud Terrarium Wide Small | 30 x 22 x 18 cm | 5 mm | ~11 L | No |
| Cloud Terrarium Wide Medium | 45 x 35 x 23 cm | Not published by Bioscape | Not published by Bioscape | No |
| Cloud Terrarium Wide Large | 45 x 30 x 40 cm | 5 mm | 54 L | No — a matching glass cover is sold separately |
At 30 x 18 x 15 cm, the Wide is the shallowest tank in the range — pick it for a desktop moss carpet or nano aquascape rather than a build that needs depth for driftwood or hardscape height.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: carpeting moss, small terrestrial plantings, nano freshwater aquascapes, propagation boxes, and paludarium builds kept well below the rim.
- Not suitable for: housing livestock on its own — fish, shrimp and reptiles need filtration, heating and/or ventilation this bare tank doesn't provide. Not designed to be filled completely with water; the low glass walls leave little margin before an overflow.
What's included / Not included
- Included: the glass terrarium itself, on its raised glass base.
- Not included: lighting, cover glass, substrate, plants, moss, filtration and any livestock. A light is essential for anything you grow in it.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the glass with an aquarium-safe cleaner or plain water — avoid household glass cleaners, which can leave a residue that's harmful to plants and any aquatic life. Clear algae with a soft pad rather than a razor scraper; at 5 mm the glass scratches more easily than a full-depth aquarium panel.
Safety
Glass edges are unpolished on the inside seams — handle an empty tank by the base rather than the rim. The raised glass base is a design feature, not a step or shelf; don't stand anything heavy on it.
Goes well with
- A nano LED light sized to a 30 cm footprint, since none is included.
- Bioscape aquasoil or a fine gravel substrate for planting depth.
- A carpeting moss or starter aquascape plant pack.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing faults such as a cracked seam or a leaking base on arrival, in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. Glass items ship boxed and padded as a standard parcel — let the tank sit at room temperature after unboxing before use.
Common questions
Does this come with a light or lid?
No. The Cloud Terrarium Wide ships as bare glass on its raised base — no light, lid, substrate or plants are included.
Can I keep fish in it?
Not on its own. It has no filtration, heating or reliable water-level margin. It's built as a display terrarium or shallow aquascape base, not a livestock system.
Is the glass thick enough for a full water fill?
Bioscape rates the glass at 5 mm, but at this shallow 15 cm height it's intended to run well under the rim as an aquascape or terrarium rather than be filled to the top.
What's the difference between this and the Wide Small?
The Wide Small (30 x 22 x 18 cm) is deeper front-to-back and taller, holding roughly 11 L against this model's ~8.1 L — useful if you want more room for hardscape height without changing the footprint much.
