Bioscape Bubbler Skeleton with Jug
Adds a skeleton-and-jug bubbler scene and extra tank oxygen. The Bioscape Bubbler Skeleton with Jug is a cast-resin aquarium ornament — a sunken skeleton figure beside a jug — with an air-stone diffuser built into its base. Connected to a standard aquarium air pump, it releases a steady stream of fine bubbles from the jug's neck, adding movement and a talking-point centrepiece to freshwater and marine tanks.
Key features
- Built-in air-stone bubbler — bubbles rise from the jug's neck when connected to any standard aquarium air pump via airline tubing.
- Aquarium-safe resin — cast in non-toxic resin rated for long-term submersion in both freshwater and marine tanks.
- Shipwreck-style theming — a skeleton-and-jug scene, a darker, more atmospheric look than the Bubbler Red Volcano or Bubbler Yellow Puffer & Anchor pieces in the same range.
- Adds surface agitation — the rising bubble column helps move water and support gas exchange around the ornament.
- No separate power draw — runs off your existing air pump; it doesn't need its own mains connection.
What's included, and what you'll still need
- Included: the resin skeleton-and-jug ornament, with the air-stone diffuser built into its base.
- Not included: an air pump, airline tubing and a check valve — all needed to run it, and all sold separately.
Setting it up
Rinse the ornament before placing it in the tank. Run airline tubing from an aquarium air pump to the inlet nozzle at the base, and fit an inline check valve if the pump sits below the water line, to stop water siphoning back into the pump when it's switched off. Use the pump's own air control, or an inline gang valve, to set how heavy the bubble stream from the jug is.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: freshwater and marine aquariums, as a static bubbling ornament run off an external air pump.
- Not suitable for: tanks with no spare air pump outlet — on its own, without an air source connected, it's decor only and won't bubble. Weigh up the extra flow in small shrimp-only or betta tanks, where a gentle bubble rate usually suits better than a strong one.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the ornament in aquarium water (not tap water or detergent) during routine maintenance to clear algae film, especially from the recesses around the skeleton. If the bubble stream slows or turns erratic, the diffuser is usually clogging with biofilm — because it's cast into the resin rather than a separate replaceable stone, a badly clogged ornament typically needs replacing rather than re-diffusing.

Common questions
Does this come with an air pump?
No. The Bubbler Skeleton with Jug is the resin ornament only — you'll need a separate aquarium air pump, airline tubing and, ideally, a check valve to run it.
Where do the bubbles come from?
From the neck of the jug — that's where the built-in diffuser sits, not the skeleton figure itself.
Is it safe for a marine or reef tank?
Yes. The resin is cast for long-term submersion in both freshwater and marine setups.
Why has the bubble stream stopped or slowed down?
Most often it's the built-in diffuser clogging with biofilm, or the air pump's diaphragm wearing out. Try a stronger pump first; if the stream stays weak or uneven, the ornament's diffuser is the likely cause.
